I had an amazing start to the week because I started back at work! Yay!
After 6 weeks off and getting myself and Wee Man settled in I started back at my new job, well new site, same employer.
It was good to be back in the swing of things and to be back working, it’s a beautiful drive also, with rolling hills, distant mountains and bush surrounds. I see plenty of Kangaroos on my drive, which I don’t think I will ever get used to, especially not the ones on the side of the road….
I was pretty exhausted by Wednesday though, as I was back to my 6:15am wake ups and finishing work at 5pm, only to be getting home at about 5:40pm due to traffic.
We had a fairly laid back start to the week, and I was thankful I’d made some meals ahead of time to feed the kid.
I was super lucky to have some deliveries this week thanks to Priceline, Oribe and Pretty Little Fawn so I will show you guys these items throughout the next week.
There’s only a couple of days left to get your entries in for my Erin Condren Giveaway so click here to enter. Even if you don’t win I also have a referral link which gives you $10 off too.
This week I also celebrated my cat’s 20th birthday. Can you believe it? I am so happy she’s still around, she’s all my son has known and my sister got her as a kitten. I just hope we get a few more years with her, especially as I don’t get to see her much any more as Missy is back in Melbourne.
We had some face painting fun with the boys coming up to Halloween and also lit our Jack O Lanterns and had the candles blazing for a couple of nights. Unfortunately they went mouldy quicker than I’ve ever experienced. Might need to look at preventing that next year.
I have exciting news for those looking for a boost within their health and wellness too. Some of you that follow me on Instagram and Facebook will know I started a new health regime earlier this year and it’s completely changed my sleep, health and most importantly my gut and digestive health.
I’ll be talking more about this in detail in an upcoming blog post, but for those interested now and wanting to join in on the November 1st Facebook group challenge head over to Instagram and leave me a comment or send me a DM and I will get in touch.
At work on Thursday I received a wonderful delivery that literally left me speechless. I had Lauren from SupaExpress in Red Hill come and deliver me an amazing package, beautifully wrapped by The Gift Hamper Co full of gluten free and vegan goodies. Plus on top of that a huge, huge bottle of Kombucha. Oh my god, I was so overwhelmed. I will definitely be showing you guys all the goodies I was lucky enough to receive and believe me, I’m holding back trying to eat it all so I can at least take some more photos and tell you about the products. Red Hill SupaExpress is your one stop shop for health foods, gluten free and dairy free items, plus a huge range of refrigerated goods, plus anything you need for plastic free living. Not to mention their vegan and vegetarian ranges.
Saturday was a lazy day, finished up all the cleaning and laundry and then baked our favourite Naturally Good gluten free cake mix to make cupcakes. This time I didn’t only top them with vegan buttercream but with some Nature’s Charm Chocolate Fudge Sauce. Soooooo good.
Sunday was slow with more cleaning and more cooking and baking. Wee Man wanted to bake an apple pie and make sushi. So we headed to Safeway and picked up a few ingredients and then came home and started our sushi. The last time I made sushi was back in 2014 with Roza’s Gourmet Sauces. Luckily sushi is relatively easy to make and we enjoyed the afternoon activity.
We also made an apple pie as Wee Man had been eager all week to bake one, but of course when it came around to it, I was the one doing all the work while Wee Man sat and ate his sushi.
Thanks for reading and have a happy Sunday!
Simply,
Natalie Laura
Some questions for you:
How do you stop Jack O Lanterns from going mouldy?
Have you planned anything for Halloween?
Have you got a pet that’s made it to 20 years or older?
