Halloween is over.
Get those decorations up, start the gift list and Christmas baking can begin!
The first recipe of the season is going to be gingerbread. I love how delicious, warming and comforting gingerbread tastes. It always reminds me of winter and Christmas festivities.
You will need:
½ c gluten free flour
½ c rice flour
1 tbsp tapioca starch
2 tbsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 ½ tsp baking powder
¾ tsp xanthan gum
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp oil
3 tbsp molasses
2 tsp vanilla extract
¼ c milk
¼ c plain Greek yogurt
1/3 c brown sugar
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees celsius and line a loaf tin with baking paper.
In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oil and egg. Mix in the remaining wet ingredients, then tip in the flour mixture.
Sir until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre, comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
I’ve received a couple of products from L’Oreal, and as we know they’re always on the forefront of developing new beauty products. I’ve been trying the Serioxyl hair thickener range. If you have ever struggled with making your hair volumised, big, fuller, thicker or just lusciously large these may serve you well.
Serioxyl Denser Hair is an everyday solution for denser looking hair. It includes a pipette to add 8 drops to your scalp, no rinse needed, for three months. Massage this in and leave to dry.
Serioxyl Thicker Hair is a fibre thickening serum. A few pumps, rubbed into the lengths and ends of hair and left to dry (or you can blow dry) will help the hair look thicker.
I’ve been using the Denser Hair, as I feel my hair is starting to get that, ‘Hey babe, you’re gettin’ older’ look and needs that healthy, fuller look.
The Serioxyl range is available at salons or through Adore Beauty.
August was the month Bloggers United AU held their Melbourne Bloggers Event.
Lucky ticket holders congregated at The Royce Hotel in St Kilda, Melbourne for networking with social media gurus and brands.
We were lucky enough to have an array of beautiful products and equally beautiful representatives showing us their latest launches and current products, all of which were generously gifted to all attendees.
Each Blogger was lucky enough to walk away with gifts galore to try, promote, test and tell others about; there’s nothing wrong with old fashioned chit chat about items you love to use!
We also had a Q & A session with bloggers Cherie from Cherie Bobbins and Bron from Flat Bum Mum. Being able to actually discuss and chat about where you can come from social media and what you can achieve was such a positive and realistic boost.

Hearing from company representatives, the other side of the blogging world, showed what they expect and where we need to be when asking to review or offer their products as part of a social media giveaway or even helping with the launching of their new products with our own ideas and suggestions.
Thank you to the Royce Hotel for accomodating Bloggers United.
I was lucky enough to be contacted by Kelly through Instagram about trying some new skin care products from Rodan and Fields launching in Australia this Spring. I had heard of Proactiv and knew the name and so was curious about their next endeavour.
Kelly asked me to use the Skin Solution Tool which involved a few questions about the health of my skin and it resulted in the suggestion of using Unblemish.
Unblemish is a four step EASY skincare routine and within only a couple of days of use I already had a couple of comments on my skin looking clear. No one says I have clear skin, they say I look younger than I am but I know I don’t have the greatest skin. I have a few pesky pimples, some scars and uneven skin tone.
The process was a little daunting, only because I’m not the greatest with looking after my skin, hence the breakouts. I began with deciding what is going to make this easy and quick, so it didn’t seem like a daily chore.
I began by using the Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash on my face in the shower, which I left on for about 60 seconds. Once out and my face was dry I used the Clarifying Toner. After my teeth were brushed, giving the toner time to dry, two pumps each of the Duel Intensive Acne Treatment I was almost good to go. Once dressed and ready to head out the door a quick smear of the Oil Control Lotion, which contains sunscreen and hey presto I’m done.
I’ve also used makeup over the top of this routine, waiting at least 30 minutes before application, and it sits fine over Unblemish.
As you can see, the redness in my face has settled and the pimples around my jawline have lessened and have started to fade.
I’m looking forward to the release of Rodan + Fields, Australia and with the range of skin care such as Reverse, Redefine and Smooth ( take a peek here) there’s an option for all skin types.
What’s your skin issue that annoys you the most?
Coming into summer, with the heat and humidity, keeping hydrated needs to be priority. I know I struggle to get enough water, I get busy, drink other liquids and end up parched by the end of the day. Most people mistake thirst for hunger too, which doesn’t help with weight gain, or the summer months when it’s almost too hot to move.
Ulla- Smart Hydration Coach is going to be your new best friend. A cute little device that can be strapped to almost any drinking aid, which will help you become more aware of keeping and staying hydrated. The Ulla is attached to your bottle or glass with a silicone strap which fits snuggly and stays well in place.
Ulla contains a smart sensor which monitors when you have had a drink and also reminds you that you need a drink. Hey, hey, hey, I’m not talking alcohol, I’m talking water!
The sensor in your Ulla will recognise when you have had a sip and will flash again when it’s time to take another, ensuring you keep your water intake up and also helping you to drink more water and reach your eight glasses a day. Drinking more water is so beneficial. It’s great for the skin, hair, your mood, sleep and general wellbeing.
One of the best features of this little gadget is that you don’t need to charge it, connect it to a phone or even turn it on or off. It recognises when you enter and leave a room with its sensor, therefore turning itself off. The battery is easily replaceable and lasts about 6 months.
Best of all there are gorgeous colour option for your Ulla too. Flamingo Pink, Coral Green, Lagoon Blue, Lily Purple, Lotus White and Jet Black.
