What a week it’s been with the wild weather here in Canberra. There’s been hail and rain and wind and storms. It’s been warm but it’s also been cold and chilly.
This week I’ve teamed up with Model Co to bring you some awesome make up and some wonderful deals. Plus they’re a Vegan certified brand so you can use it with the peace of mind that it’s completely cruelty free! Plus I definitely recommend subscribing to their emails as you’ll also get 10% off your purchase.
There’s so much to chose from when it comes to their vegan products, not only is their tanner vegan but their cleansers, foundations, eyelashes, mascaras and bronzers. So no matter what beauty product yours looking for you’ll be able to find a cruelty free variety. They’re both vegan and PETA certifies and there’s nothing even associated with our furry friends from inception to being on the store shelves.
Model Co has been around for over 16 years and they have everything you’d want and need for your beauty regime.
Coming up to Christmas one of my favourite holiday drinks is Egg Nog! I’ve always wanted one of those Moose Glasses that Chevy Chase has in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation to drink my Nog out of but I’ve never been able to find one. If you know where I can get my hands on one or two please let me know.
So my go to Vegan Egg Nog recipe each year is an easy one and you’ll just need a blender or like me, a Nutri Ninja.
You will need:
1 avocado
1 cup coconut milk
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
Pinch ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons agave
1/4 cup rum (optional)
Blend all ingredients.
It has a thicker, fuller consistency than a smoothie and ice could be added too if you desired.
The weekend consisted of baking on Saturday with another batch of my favourite gluten free chocolate chip cookies being made and I finally made a successful batch of fruit mince tarts. The ones I made last week I left in the oven a little too long and they ended up burning.
I’ll post the recipe in an upcoming blog post and I will link it here.
Sunday we went to the SpringOut Festival at Glebe Park to celebrate one last Pride event before the new year.
We had a great time watching the performers, Wee Man loved the free fairy floss and face painting and the entertainment was pretty good too. There were heaps of people there all armed with their picnics like us, and the day was just perfect, not too hot with the right amount of sun. A good way to wind down on a Sunday.
There was a great atmosphere with many kids and their families all set up on the grass of Glebe Park and there were also fun activities to partake in such as tug of war and handbag throwing.
We then made a quick pit stop home before heading to Wee Man’s school fete which was Multicultural event with lots of different foods, activities and then the usual rides, and fundraisers. Wee Man chose to go on the Dodgems and a Pony Ride. A pretty good fete for a school, very impressed.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have had a wonderful sunny weekend,
Simply,
Natalie Laura
