Floriade

I visited Floriade for I think the third time in the last couple of years, it’s a flower and colour festival here in Canberra that runs for the weeks of September 14th until October 13th.

This year’s theme was World of Bloom and the 32nd year of the Floriade event.

It’s amazing what work goes into the planting, planning and growing of the florals. There are themes and patterns throughout the displays along with many selfie opportunities and an endless colour palette for your Instagram.

Whilst enjoying a doughnut, potato on a stick or simple coffee meander through the pathways of Commonwealth Park and enjoy the celebration of Spring amongst over one million blooms.

Floriade makes for a lovely adventure especially with the kids as there’s also some rides, activities and food stalls to eat at, plus it’s close to Lake Burley Griffin. There’s also local market stalls, workshops and displays to enjoy along with the eye catching roaming entertainment throughout the gardens.

Floriade also hosts a Night Fest which involves ticketed entry with comedic performances, night markets and entertainment. Perfect for a get together of an evening with family and friends, enjoy a bite to eat whilst enjoying the performances on offer.

Simply,

Natalie Laura
