It’s been a terrible year for coughs in my household.
Continuous, deep, barky coughs.
I was given this cough drop recipe from a friend and it was fun and easy to make and worked wonders in settling and calming our coughs.
Easy Peasy! Taste great! Soothe the throat & calm the cough You will need: 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup water 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1/2 tsp ground ginger Juice of one lemon 1 heaped tbs Manuka Honey Combine all ingredients and boil whilst continuously stirring. Simmer for about 20 minutes until the mixture becomes dark and starts to thicken. Remove from heat & let mixture cool for 5 minutes. Take care- pan and mix will be HOT!! On a tray lined with baking paper use a spoon to drip 'lolly-sized' drops on the paper. Again use caution- HOT! Leave the drops for a couple of minutes then sprinkle with icing sugar to stop them sticking. Remove from paper and place in a container.
